Englisch lernen für Kinder – Tipps und Ressourcen

By 21. November 2018Allgemein

„There are many online resources that your children can access. In order to internalise new language, however, they would benefit from some supervision and feedback in terms of their accuracy. Their progress will improve if they have the opportunity to communicate in English (even if only for short periods) regularly. I’ve included a list of free resources below and there are also some courses that can be bought online but the amount of materials can be overwhelming. We would advise to try and engage with a low level graded reader (e.g by reading for at least five minutes every day), to begin noting down and trying to use new words (only 6-12 a week), to listen and watch videos and to try and communicate using what they are learning with someone who can give corrective feedback in order to improve. Visual supports (e.g. the days of the week/months of the year) around the house will also help to remember key words. We would to engage in this routine for at least 6 weeks and see how your children progress so that if additional support is needed(e.g. classes/a tutor/skype lessons), it can be provided in good time pre-arrival for the lessons in Ireland.“
